Travelling
or attempting to travel for the purposes of terrorism

Terrorism charges can also involve
allegations of other crimes, such as murder, explosives, firearms, fraud, or

We have extensive knowledge and
expertise in dealing with all types of terrorism charges, including:
Terrorism
Act 2000 - This is the main piece of legislation that defines terrorism
and creates various offences related to terrorism. It also gives the
police and security services special powers to stop and search, arrest and
detain, and seize property in relation to terrorism investigations.
Terrorism
Act 2006 - This act creates further offences related to terrorism, such as
preparing or training for acts of terrorism, glorifying terrorism, and
disseminating terrorist publications. It also increases the maximum period
of detention without charge for terrorism suspects from 14 to 28 days.
Counter-Terrorism
Act 2008 - This act creates more offences related to terrorism, such as
collecting or eliciting information likely to be useful to a terrorist,
publishing information about members of the armed forces or intelligence
services, and attending a place used for terrorist training. It also gives
the police and security services more powers to obtain and share
information about terrorism suspects.
Counter-Terrorism
and Security Act 2015 - This act introduces new measures to prevent people
from being drawn into terrorism, such as requiring public authorities to
have due regard to the need to prevent people from being radicalised. It
also creates new powers to seize passports and impose temporary exclusion
orders on British citizens suspected of involvement in terrorism-related
activity abroad.
Counter-Terrorism
and Border Security Act 2019 - This act updates existing terrorism
offences and creates new ones, such as expressing an opinion or belief
that supports a proscribed organisation, entering or remaining in a
designated area overseas that is associated with terrorism, and obtaining
or viewing material over the internet that is likely to be useful to a
terrorist. It also increases the maximum sentences for some terrorism
offences.
